Cavaliers star LeBron James says he will trade in his No. 23 uniform number for No. 6 after this season, out of respect for the greatest basketball player of all-time — and/or in an effort to increase merchandising sales.

Following Thursday night's win in Miami,with Jordan in attendance, LeBron James made the comments

"I just think what Michael Jordan has done for the game has to be recognized some way soon," James said. "There would be no LeBron James(notes), no Kobe Bryant(notes), no Dwyane Wade(notes) if there wasn't Michael Jordan first.

"He can't get the logo, and if he can't, something has to be done. I feel like no NBA player should wear 23. I'm starting a petition, and I've got to get everyone in the NBA to sign it. Now, if I'm not going to wear No. 23, then nobody else should be able to wear it."

Well, if you want to know why he would want to use No. 6, No. 6 was James' Olympic number, Julius Erving, who rocked it, is second-favorite player ever, and LBJ's first child was born on Oct. 6; his second in June (the sixth month).

Kobe Bryant changed from 8 to 24 (2x4=8) and Lebron James will change 23 to 6 (2x3=6). Is this coincidence or what?

Back from the dead! Just go so frustrated with last season's outcome that I forgot this blog existed. Anyhow, the King Lebron James, and the Cleveland Cavaliers has bounced back after 2 straight losses to start the new season.

Tonight's game proved a good sign for newly-acquired Shaquille O'neal as he has a season-high 21 points as the Cleveland Cavaliers won against longtime-rival Washington Wizards!

Such strong words from the newly acquired big man for Cleveland Cavaliers.The Hall-of-fFme bound Shaquille O'neal was acquired by Cleveland from a trade with the Phoenix Suns in exchange for Sasha Pavlovic and Ben Wallace and he was welcomed by a team that believes he can bring this title-thirsty region its first major pro sports crown in 45 years.

During the NBA 2009 Eastern Conference Finals against the Orlando Magic, where Cleveland was pretty much favored to win, Cleveland failed to deliver. They had matchup problems at most positions, and that does not include the center position where Dwight Howard and even backup center Marcin Gortat was doing their damage.

"It's LeBron's team," he said. "He's the captain. This is the time in my career where I can fit in. I'm now in the security business. My job is to protect the King, and that's what I'm here to do."

Could he be the missing piece in Clevelands bid for the NBA Championship? Could he be the Robin to Lebron James? Can he still deliver after a stellar performance last season in Phoenix?

Four games has passed in the 2009 NBA East Finals, and there has been no sweep yet, nor is the Cleveland Cavaliers leading in the series, in fact, they are now behind 2 games against the Orlando Magic. Lebron James and the Cavaliers lost Game 3 and 4 in Orlando, and the Orlando Magic took a 3-1 advantage over the "best" regular season team, the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Cavaliers have not shown that they are the best team in the regular season with 66 wins. King Lebron James has been consistently scoring 40 plus points per outing, but his teammates has been struggling with their shots from the floor. King James has been ballhogging because his teammates have been missing badly with their shots. They seem to have no answer for they find an answer to Dwight Howard, Hedo Turkoglu and Rashad Lewis.

As of now, we still wait to see the "66-win team" Cavaliers play basketball like they did 2 months ago. We are still waiting for James' teammates to bounce back from the struggles and prove that they are indee worthy to be called the best team. We are still believing that they can still pull it off.

But, will the Cavaliers able to bounce back from a 3-1 deficit in the series? Will they be called Eastern Conference champions? Will they be crowned NBA champions? I still believe.

With 1 second to left in the game clock, the King Lebron James took the inbound pass, got a clean look and took a 3-point shot from the top of the arc over a rushing Hedo Turkoglo, and made the shot every great player makes. For a few seconds, it looked as if Turkoglu would be the hero and the Magic would be halfway to their first appearance in the finals since 1995. James wouldn’t allow it.

The Cleveland Cavaliers started out strong in Game 2 and once again faded in the 4th quarter with a surge from the Orlando Magic. It was as if the Orlando Magic was going to take a 2-0 lead in the Eastern Conference Finals, but the King Lebron James rescued the Cavaliers with a buzzer-beater to beat the clock. Taking the inbounds pass from Mo Williams. James only had time to turn his shoulders toward the rim and fire, and he made the shot. It was an identical shot that another man with also wore a #23 on his jersey took agains the Cleveland Cavaliers in 1989, Michael Jordan's famous shot over the outstretched hands of Craig Ehlo.

Rashard Lewis scored 23 points and Turkoglu had 21 for the Magic, who have now lost four games at the buzzer in these playoffs. Dwight Howard(notes) scored 10— 20 below his Game 1 performance—and added 18 rebounds.

Williams had 19 points, Zydrunas Ilguaskas had 12 points and 15 rebounds for Cleveland and Lebron James had 35 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists.

Game 3 is Sunday night in Orlando, where the Magic beat the Cavaliers twice this season and thumped them by 29 points on April 3.

Dwight Howard broke the shot clock with a monstrous dunk in the opening minutes and it proved to be signs that they were going to stun the Cavaliers. The Cleveland Cavaliers finally met their match in the playoffs.

Dwight Howard scored 30 points, Rashard Lewis added 22 and the Orlando Magic rallied from a 15-point halftime deficit to hand LeBron James and the Cavaliers their first loss of the postseason, 107-106 in the Eastern Conference finals opener.

King Lebron James finished with 49 points, eight assists and six rebounds but it was enough to give the Cavaliers their 9th win in the postseason when the Cleveland Cavaliers got complacent and lost their offensive rhythm in the third quarter. They stood around either waiting for James to do something or settled for jump shots that didn’t fall and that proved too costly for them.

The Cavaliers lost their first game in the 2009 NBA playoffs and they are no longer untested, no longer unbeaten.

Bring out LeBroom! Lebron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers swept the Atlanta Hawks with a 84-74 in Game 4 of their 2009 NBA Playoffs 2nd round matchup.

James scored a lowly 27 points, way below his playoffs averages, but was just enough to finish the Hawks in 4 games with a balanced attack from the other Cavaliers. Delonte West and Mo Williams showed Cleveland isn’t just about Lebron James, hitting huge shots down the stretch. Lebron James lead the balanced attach with 27 points, 8 assists and 8 rebounds.

The Cavs extended their NBA-record streak of double-digit playoff wins to eight in a row. They will be facing the winner of Orlando vs. Boston in the Eastern Conference finals.
